He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Young and Olga Young (Olsen). He is survived by: his daughter Julie Michelle (Eric); his wife Eileen; his son Steve Young (Lisa); his grandchildren, Robbie (Bri), Katie, Jessie Dison, Nathan, Andrew Young and Maia Scholten (Jared); his great grandchildren, Xilenia and Bellamy Dison Lopez; and his in-laws, Carol Nelson, LoisAnn Sellars (Paul), Neil Wilts (Colleen), Larry Wilts (Marie), Roselyn Giese (Jay), Dale Wilts (Patti) and Ron Wilts (Bev).
Visitation was held on Sunday, July 13th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Monday, July 14th 2025 at 10:00 AM. A prayer was held on Sunday, July 13th 2025 from 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the Calendar Glende-Nilson Funeral Home & Cremation Services-Battle Lake (102 S Lincoln Ave, Battle Lake, MN 56515). A Mass was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Calendar Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church (407 Lake Ave N, Battle Lake, MN 56515).
