He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Nelson and Ida Nelson (Otteson); his daughter Debra Larson; his son-in-law Tom Larson; and his siblings, Henry Nelson, Clarice Lindgren and Janet Engen.
He is survived by: his wife Joann Clausen; his daughters, Patricia Sullivan (Terry) of Annandale and Lori Holt (Dennis) of Murdock, Minnesota; and his siblings, Ruby Christenson of Eagan, Minnesota, Delores Gandrud (Phillip) of Sacred Heart, Minnesota, David Nelson (Judy) of Princeton, Minnesota and Wayne Nelson (Karen) of Sartell, Minnesota. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
