He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Massengale and Jessie Lee Massengale; and his siblings, Marvia of Ohio, Odessa of Ohio, John of Ohio and Columbus of Ohio.
He is survived by: his wife Antusa; his children, Benjamin, Jr. (Sonia) of Washington, D. C., Robert (Kathy) of Alexandria and Lori of Roseville, Minnesota; and his niece Virginia. He is also survived by three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
