She is survived by: her children, Chad Purcell (Nichole Aksamit Purcell) of Des Moines and Joni Hager (Chris) of Bemidji. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
During the last decade of her life, she fought valiantly and kept laughing as her early onset Alzheimer's disease ("my half's-heimer's" as she called it) worsened.
