He was predeceased by: his parents, William Hill and Myrtle Hill; his daughter Kristin Speck (Wayne); his siblings, Delores and Russell; his daughter Barbara Ann; and his grandsons, Mike and Cody.

He is survived by: his wife Lois Hill (Hoiby); his sister Gloria Woodard; and his children, Bonnie Miller (Mike), Bill Hill (Carol), Susan Cronemiller (Doug), Jeanne Ells (Larry) and Lori Lauderbaugh (Mike). He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and one future great-great-grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to Bemidji Lions Club or First Presbyterian Church Bemidji.
