He is survived by: his former wife Linda Edevold of Gonvick; his daughter Angela Sutherland of Waxhaw, NC; his wife Brenda Madden of Bagley; his son David L. Sutherland of Blaine, MN.; his granddaughters, Lindsey Endres, Ashley DeMers, Megan Sutherland and Marleina Sutherland; his brother Kenneth Sutherland; and also, Ethan Julson, Luke Julson, Garrett Waldman and Ivan Sutherland. He is also survived by two children, eight grandchildren, and many loved nieces and nephews, and extended family.
