He is survived by: his wife Jan; his children, Scott (Wanda), Pam Yankovec (Dan) and Angie Mengelkoch (Shaun Vandegrift); his grandchildren, Leann Mengelkoch (Gerald Brown) and Shaun Mengelkoch; and his pet Mork. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Sanford Hospice of Bemidji.
