He is survived by: his wife Diane Whalen of Cass Lake; his children, Jacob Whalen (Teresa) of Sauk Rapids, Steven Whalen (Sara) of New Jersey and Elizabeth Conant (John) of Georgia; and his siblings, Kate Christensen (Alex), Peggy Vervalen (Marti) and Brian Whalen (Pat). He is also survived by grandchildren.
