He is survived by: his significant other Sonja Burger; his sons, Michael and James Schummer; his stepson Dale Burger; his grandsons, Flynn, Terace, Colter (Michael), Jacen (James Schummer) and Rory (Dale Burger); and his sisters, Donna Knapper (Rod) and Linda Lussier.
