He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Schummer and Fern Schummer (Gillette); his uncle Henry; and his aunt Julie Schummer. He is survived by: his children, Michael, Mike Schummer (Danielle) of Princeton, Angela Hansen (Eric) of Sauk Rapids and Amber Schummer of Sartell; his siblings, Deanna Schummer of Princeton, Jody Weimert (Frank Galler) of Janesville, MN and Jason Schummer (Angelica) of Princeton; and his grandchildren, Trista, Lillian, Owen and Jackson. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends.
