With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gerald Eugene Osterbauer (Benson, Minnesota), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 23, 2026 at the age of 90. He was predeceased by: his parents, Rudolph Osterbauer and Ellen Osterbauer; his wife Vivian Ann Mellgren; his son Michael Osterbauer; his siblings, Bob and Janeen; his close friend Vene McNellis; and his son-in-law Steve Slaughter.
He is survived by: his children, Lauree Gunderson (Gary) of Sauk Rapids, Maree Slaughter of Benson, Tony Osterbauer (Janeen) of DeGraff and Nancy Osterbauer (Barb Bedrosian) of Fredrica, Delaware; and his siblings, Roxanne Nehring of Murdock and John Osterbauer of Minneapolis. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and several other relatives and friends.
