He is survived by : his wife Lyuda Backlund (Partyka); his children, Jason Backlund (Lauren) and Janella Thies (Connor); his former life partner Barbara Backlund (Edwards); his daughters, Sue Anderson (Rick), Patty Backlund, Kathy Backlund and Ellen Parady (Tim Ittner); his grandchildren, Jessica Anderson (Mike Sakariason), Tim Anderson (Megan Lencowski), Jakob Backlund, Jonah Parady (Elizabeth Olsen), Emma Backlund (Michael Urvig) and Brooke Parady; his brothers, Larry Backlund and Ron Backlund; and his sister-in-law Valentina Partyka.
