He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon Gjertsen and Beatrice Gjertsen (Dale); and his daughter-in-law Celia. He is survived by: his wife Sue Erickson; his children, Jim Gjertsen, Lori Varner and Jenny Mitchell (Karth); his grandchildren, Colton, Sam Varner, Christian Mitchell (Kristine), Mike Mitchell (Jamie) and Alex Mitchell (Katie); his great grandchildren, Jacob, Laurenna and Cameron; and his sisters, Jude Walters (Wayne) and Elaine Rogers.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 11th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Church of Saint Henry (1001 E 7th St, Monticello, MN 55362). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, July 11th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
