With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Ronald Kopel of Bird Island, Minnesota, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 17, 2025 at the age of 69. He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Kopel and Marie Kopel (O'Neill); his siblings, Pat, Chuck, Jerry Kopel and Rosie Koterba; and his brothers-in-law, Ed Steffel, Jim Krantz and Jim Kadlec.
He is survived by: his wife Deb of Savior's Lutheran Church; his children, Kristin Young (Tom), Jeremy Kopel (Kris), Brian Kopel (Marsha) and Brad Kopel (Raschelle); his grandchildren, Amy Evenson (Hunter), Dylan Schroeder, Austin Schroeder, Paul Young (Codi), Renee Young, Taylor Klatt (Logan), Morgan Fennern, Kaylee Fennern, Hunter Kopel, Kalli Kopel, McKenzie Kopel and Tayte Kopel; his siblings, Karen Steffel, Sharon Kadlec, Marlene Krantz, Mike Kopel (Helen), Diane Otteson (Jon) and LuAnn Krier (John); and his brother-in-law Kenny Koterba. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 10:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (220 S 10th St, Bird Island, MN 55310).
