He was predeceased by: his parents, Flavius "Fred" Rivard and Katherine Rivard (McQueen); his wife Joyce Rivard; and his siblings, Richard Rivard, Ronald Rivard and Joan.

He is survived by: his children, Larry (Theresa), Lori, Mike (Julie), Jill, Joni (Arlan) and Joel (Carol).
