Barbara Ann Christopherson Obituary
Barbara Ann Christopherson, age 88, of Blaine, Minnesota, passed away on June 18, 2025.
Barbara was born on May 30, 1937, in Clear Lake, South Dakota, to Conrad and Myrtle (Bergjord) Vik. She was raised in Toronto, South Dakota, where she met her high school sweetheart, Kenneth Christopherson. The two were married shortly after graduation and made their home in the Twin Cities.
Barbara spent much of her career in firmware production with Control Data Corporation and continued through the company's changes before retiring from Seagate. She was known for her strong work ethic and dedication.
Barbara had a love for travel, something she wished she had done more of. She found great joy in her later years through collecting antiques, gardening, and planting trees and shrubs. She took great pride in her yard and landscaping, always tending it with care and creativity. Barbara cherished time spent with family and friends, enjoying long chats and close connections. She was fiercely independent and lived life on her own terms.
She is survived by her sons: Randy (Candy), Gary (Pati), and Tim; grandchildren: Joe (Lana) Pentland, Becca (Andy) Hollenback, and Kyle; as well as numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Maxine Vik and Ruby Christopherson, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Conrad and Myrtle, and her brother, Duane Vik.
Celebration of Life will be held from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Sunday, July 27th at Mary Ann Young Center (9150 Central Ave NE, Blaine). A graveside service will be held at a later date at Toronto Cemetery in Toronto, South Dakota.
