He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Pieper and Iris Pieper (Shaffer); his son Richard; his wife Mary; his grandchildren, Emily and Ryan; his sister Patty Shaw; and his brother-in-law Jim Shaw.
He is survived by: his children, Robert (Lori) and Dr. Christina Pieper-Bigelow (Mark Bigelow); and his grandchildren, Andrew Pieper (Heather), Christian Pieper (Lily), Robbie Pieper, Dr. Catherine Bigelow Gribbon (Robert), Jonathan Bigelow (Rachel) and Joseph Bigelow. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren.
