He was predeceased by: his father Harold Nuessmeier of Waseca; his sister Danita Elton (Steve); his son Aaron Nuessmeier of Blue Earth; his brother-in-law Steve Elton of Kasson; his parents-in-law, Donald and Irene Boettcher of Marna; his nephew J. J. Boettcher; and his cousin Andy Leland.
He is survived by: his mother Valoris Nuessmeier (Gaard); his wife Paula Nuessmeier (Boettcher); his sons, Joshua Nuessmeier (Kimberly Bormann) of Marna and Jonathon Nuessmeier (Skye Coughlin) of Minneapolis; his sister Jennifer Sandbeck (Doug) of Waseca; and his brother-in-law John Lee Boettcher (Pat) of Blue Earth. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In a final act of kindness and generosity, Al chose to donate his body to science, continuing his lifelong legacy of care and compassion.
