He was predeceased by: his parents, Clinton Skoog and LaVon Skoog; his grandparents, Floyd, Leora Olson, Myer and Nora Skoog; and his siblings-in-law, Barbara Graham and Dennis Farnsworth.

He is survived by: his son Gary of Brainerd; his wife Nancy (Graham); his daughters, Lynae Knott Young (Jeffrey) of Virginia, Melanie Patton (Matthew) of Alabama and Kristen Spielman (William); his grandsons, Travis Knott (Alyssa) of Virginia, Stefan Knott (Jade) of Virginia and Michael'Robbie'Knott of Virginia; his sister Cynthia Farnsworth of Wisconsin; and his sister-in-law Deborah Pyke (Daniel) of Michigan. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
