We are sad to announce that on April 13, 2021, at the age of 67, Janet Praska of Brainerd, Minnesota, born in Minneapolis, Minnesota passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Janet Praska to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Grace Janet Akerson (Johnson) and Charles Akerson; her brother Jerry Akerson; and her husband Greg. She is survived by: her siblings, John, Jim, Jason Akerson and Judy McFarlin; her sons, Henry (Kara Schaefer), Charlie (Meghan Thurlow) and Bruce (Ariel); her stepdaughter Kandi Franco (Billy); and her grandchildren, Andrea, Karina, Valente, Kitty, Benjamin, Marni and Harleyann.

The family requests attendees honor social distancing and mask requirements.

In lieu of flowers or money, the family would appreciate any donations to the Minnesota 4H Foundation or the Masonic Cancer Center.

“I am so sorry that Janet died unexpectedly. Janet and Greg have 3 children. Henry became an integral part of my family shortly after he met my daughter Kara. Henry is an amazing, confident son-in-law who loves deeply. After his Dad died, he took excellent care of his Mom. Honor, love, and respect are taught to children, and Henry was taught well. I am so saddened that the Praska adult children have to again face the loss of a parent. My love to Henry and Kara, and other family members as well.”
