He was predeceased by: his parents, Otis Hanson and Doris Hanson (Mitchell); his wife Donna Skillings; and his sisters, Sharon Morgan and Yvonne Kansteldt.
He is survived by: his daughters, Jean Martin (Jay) of Shoreview, Debra Stolpa (Bill) of Winona and Susan Hanson of Fort Collins, CO; and his sister Carol Mitchell of Staples. He is also survived by six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 18th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Koop Funeral Home (32 E Main St, Crosby, MN 56441). A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 19th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Minnesota State Veteran Cemetery (15550 MN-115, Little Falls, MN 56345).
