He was predeceased by: his parents, Walden Helsene and Catherine Helsene (Beckius); his stepparents, James Eyestone and Donna Helsene; his brothers, Russ, Dale and Rick; and his siblings-in-law, Connie Nelson and Aloma Gullick.

He is survived by: his children, Erica Henke (Jon) and Chris Helsene (Julie); his grandchildren, Evelyn, Timothy, Joseph Helsene, Zachary and Katherine Henke; his cousin Brad Demmon; his friend Bobbie Sarff; and his pet Tabitha.
