With sadness, we share the passing of David L Matz (Breckenridge, Minnesota). David, born on August 2, 1946, passed away on September 17, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Matz and Mildred Matz (Hein); and his siblings-in-law, Claudia Matz, Joann Rhinhart and Paul Rhinhart.
He is survived by: his wife Gayle M. Matz (Rhinhart); his daughters, Sara Holmes (David), Heidi Welsh (Dennis) and Melissa Bethard (Lacey Nohrenberg); his grandchildren, Kaitlin Prendergast (Tommy), Caroline Holmes, Charlotte Welsh, Lucas Welsh, Stephanie Welsh, Madeline Bethard (Aaron Berecka) and Noah Bethard (Jacqueline); and his great grandchildren, Christopher North-Holmes, Sebastian Roman Bethard and Hazel Prendergast. He is also survived by his four brothers; numerous nieces and nephews; and many cherished friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Faith Lutheran Church (302 1st St, Wolverton, MN 56594). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Mitchell Township Cemetery.
