It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Janis Johnson of Breckenridge, Minnesota, who passed away on July 27, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Gary Johnson; her daughter Kristi Sprung; her sister Mary Brown; her parents, Ray Platt and Leora Platt; and her siblings, Gerald "Jerry" Platt, Jean and Ronald.
She is survived by: her children, Kathy Schultz (Tim), Karla Soyring (Brian), Kenneth Johnson (Michelle), Karl Johnson (Janelle) and Kyle Johnson (Stacy); and her brothers, Roland "Rocky" Platt (Cindy), James Platt and Allen Platt (Connie). She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 10th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the Vertin-Munson Funeral Home (224 6th St N, Wahpeton, ND 58074). A prayer will be held on Sunday, August 10th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 11th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, August 11th 2025 at 3:30 PM at the Eagle Valley Cemetery (17515 Co Rd 2, Christine, ND 58015).
Memorials are preferred to Eagle Valley Cemetery in care of Eagle Valley Church, PO Box 21, Christine, ND 58015.
