He was predeceased by: his parents, Rodger Gardner and Amy Gardner; his brother Doug Gardner; and his brother-in-law Wade Lawrence. He is survived by: his wife Cathy; his children, Joel Gardner, Erin Heyduk (Seth) and Jordan Gardner; his grandchildren, Jolene and Juniper Heyduk; and his siblings, Brian Gardner (Kathy), Laurie Lawrence, Susan Brunner (John), Becky Johnson (Tim), Bruce Gardner (Holly) and Madrene Gardner. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
