It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Janet D. Thorud (Brooklyn Park, Minnesota), born in Eagle Bend, Minnesota, who passed away on June 23, 2021, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Matthew Pontius and Olga Pontius (Nelson); her husband Norris Thorud Jr.; her daughter Jennifer Kaufman; and her siblings, Donna Johnson (Derald), Loretta Olson (Wayne), Virginia Beach (Roger) and David Pontius.

She is survived by: her daughter Cynthia Pratt; her grandson Joseph Aldrich; her great grandchild Elias Rodriguez; her stepchildren, Edwin Thorud (Linda), Judy Gengler, Daniel Thorud (Linda) and Richard Thorud; and her sister-in-law Helen Pontius. She is also survived by many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.
