He is survived by: his wife Pamela Sue Kettering of Sedan; his son Douglas Steinhofer of Litchfield; his stepdaughter Holly (Chad Freymiller) of Stitzer, WI; his stepgrandchildren, Cadence and Connor; his siblings, John Steinhofer Jr. (Menards) of Big Falls, Tim Steinhofer (Cindy) of Brooten, David Steinhofer of Sedan, Donald Steinhofer (Stefanie) of Sauk Centre, Chad Steinhofer of Glenwood, Darlene Fadness of Sedan, Janice Karasch (Alan) of Hackensack, Kathy Van Vickle (David) of Glenwood and LaDonna Steinhofer of Glenwood; and his aunts, Shirley Steinhofer of Melrose, Jean Fuchs of Melrose and Karen Zirbes of Melrose. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
