He was predeceased by: his parents, James Norwood and Marylin Norwood (Dvorak); his wife Katherine Ann Norwood (Bohler); his siblings, Barbara and John; and his nephew Earl.

He is survived by: his children, Jayne Martinson (Eric) of Little Falls, Margaret Civilla (Mickey) of Upsala and Anthony Civilla (Kayla) of Little Falls; and his siblings, Candace Anderson (Ford) of Clarissa, Delbert Norwood of Hackensack, James Norwood (Becky) of Browerville, Buenna Knacke (Warren) of Darwin, Belinda Prather (Wayne) of Clarissa and Mary Wittucki (Thomas) of Little Falls. He is also survived by three children, have 14 grandchildren and one great-grand child.
