She was predeceased by: her parents, Therol Velde and Gladys Velde (Johnson); her husband Warren M. Schmalz; and her siblings-in-law, Nancy Schmalz, Stanley Peterson and Paul Crump.
She is survived by: her siblings, Rose Peterson (Velde) of New Brighton, MN, Ole Velde (Sally) of Granite Falls, MN and Warren Velde (Doreen) of Granite Falls, MN; and her siblings-in-law, Arvid Schmalz of Phoenix, AZ, Kermit Schmalz (Mary) of Hutchinson, MN and Muriel Seabrook (Theodore) of Brookhaven, PA. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center, Gideons, or Zion Lutheran Church for their local charity outreach programs.
