He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilfred Alphonse and Helen Genevieve Hance (Reintjes); his sisters, Kathleen Gnitka, Joan Schaust and Rita Kunkel; and his siblings-in-law, Janet Hance and George Schaust.

He is survived by: his wife Erva May Hance; his son Andrѐ Lawrence Hance (Dawn Benson-Hance); his grandchildren, Onar Cu'Chulain Ireland-Hance, Saoirse Iseult Ireland Hance, Karsten Edward Hance and Jeremy Leon Hance (Tiffany Joy Roufs); his great grandchild Aurelia May Hance; his siblings, Jerome Hance (Delores), Estelle Schaust (Matt) and Lawrence Hance (Diane); his siblings-in-law, Ralph Gnitka and Arnie Kunkel; his close friends, Craig and Maggie Lilja; and his pet Shane.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Sharing and Caring Hands.
