He was predeceased by: his parents, John Novotny and Josephine Novotny; his wife Lois Asplund Novotny; his sister Josephine Novotny (Ron); his children-in-law, Tony Jensen, Michael Kuehn and Jill Novotny; and his grandson Matthew.

He is survived by: his children, Cindy Hoekstra (Sandy), Jean Jensen, Gordy Novotny (Carol), Carolyn Kuehn, John Novotny (Mary Grace), Linda Novotny, Mark Novotny and Lisa Novotny; his grandchildren, Gordy (Kathy), Keith (Susie), Josh, Angela, Jessica, Skylar, Owen, Emily, Devin and Micah; his great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Lisa, Decari, Rayshaun, Dale and Valery; and his pets, Lucy and Lucky.

A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 at 6:00 PM at the Lake Ridge Care Center Chapel – Buffalo.
