He was predeceased by: his parents, Lambert Schmitz and Orrilla Schmitz (Luce); his wife Violet Laabs; and his brothers, Jack (Phyllis) and Marty.
He is survived by: his children, Tina (Jeremy), Luke and Rebecca (Grant); his grandchildren, Kendra (Hunter), Cole (Izzy), Daisy, Lucas (Tori), Jaiden (Dominic) and Trace (Sarayna); and his sisters-in-law, Lucy Schmitz and Mary Laabs. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, at 6:00 PM and on Saturday, August 9th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
