He was predeceased by: his parents, Merlin Nelson and Evelyn Nelson; his wife Ruth; his son Boyd; and his brother Bruce.
He is survived by: his son Barry Nelson (Julie); his grandsons, Jack and Joe; and his siblings, Paul and Janice. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Berean Baptist Church (309 County Rd 42 E, Burnsville, MN 55306). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
