He was predeceased by: his parents, John Baerg and Elisabeth Baerg (Peters). He is survived by: his wife Marjorie; his children, Jerry Baerg (Caroline), Anita Baerg-Vatndal (Steve Vatndal), Roger Baerg and Denise Baerg; his grandsons, Jacob Vatndal, Timothy Baerg, Garrett Baerg, David Vatndal and Joshua Baerg; and his sisters, Gladys Ann Harder (Leslie) and Elsie Friesen (Gilbert).
After retiring from farming in 2000, John tended a large garden and gave away a lot of produce to charity and family.
