He was predeceased by: his parents, Aden Rud and Leola Rud; his brother Dale; and his siblings-in-law, Bill and Paula.
He is survived by: his wife Sally; his children, Heather Baxter (Paul), Holly Bellrichard (Mitch), Heath Rud (Savannah) and Hunter Rud (Rachel); his siblings, Donald Rud (Lin), Sue Jarhaus, Tom Rud (Vicki), Charlie Rud (Sue), David Rud (Lynn), Diane Rud and Greg Rud (Martha); and his grandchildren, Leo, Harper, Oona, Finley and Ripley. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
