He is survived by: his wife Ethelyn Gensmer; his siblings, Anita Hirschoff and Walt (Alice); his sons, Tom Gensmer, Tim Gensmer (Julie) and Terry Gensmer (Christine); his grandchildren, Nick Gensmer, Alison Gensmer, William Gensmer and Annika Gensmer; and his sisters-in-law, Norma Munson and Margie Parkos. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorials are preferred to St. John's Lutheran Church and/or school.
