He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Michaelson and Isabell Michaelson (Johnson); his former wife Phyllis S. Michaelson; his daughter Michele Rohner; his grandson Michael D. Peterson; and his siblings, Ione Neinoord, Phyllis Thomas, Mervin Michaelson, Earl Michaelson, Donald Michaelson, Dorothy Mae "Dotty" Edwards and Allen Michaelson.
He is survived by: his children, Lynda Peterson (Doug) of Colorado, Wesley "Wes" Michaelson (Anna) of South Dakota, Patty Whitney (Tom) of Shakopee, Naomi Petko (Michael) of Virginia, Jim Michaelson (Faith) of Rosemount, Jack Michaelson (Karen) of Mendota Heights and David Michaelson (Cheryl) of Hawaii; his stepchildren, John Bass of Wisconsin, Ginny Bustrom (Corey) of Princeton and Dan Bass of Esko; and his siblings, Sharon Johnson (Jack) of Burnsville and Paul Michaelson (Gloria) of Bloomington. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson.
