He was predeceased by: his parents, Elizabeth Olson and Walter Olson; his stepmother Violet Olson; his former wife Diane Olson; his daughter Kim; his sister Joyce; his brother-in-law Pete; and his close friend Kathy Niemi.

He is survived by: his children, Rhonda Leaf (Mark) and Jeremy Olson; his brother Richard Olson (Karyn); his former wife Marge Olson; and his grandchildren, Brittni Buller, Briana Berg (Blake), Blair Hendel (Andrew), Jason and Jordan Olson. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
