With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Merlin Thomas of Cambridge, Minnesota, born in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Thomas and Margaret Thomas; his brother Wes; and his sister-in-law Audrey Thomas. He is survived by: his former wife Judith Johnson; his wife Mary Kay Recher Hall; his children, Deadra Moffit (Jeff), Barry Thomas (Michelle), Brett Thomas, Angie Lind and Heidi VanderMey (Donald); his stepchildren, Troy Hall (Jackie), Chris Hall (Michelle) and Cara Tanis (Mark Barrett); his grandchildren, Jennings Thomas (Libby Genadek), Alison, Mike Fitzgerald, Jack Moffit, Julia Moffit, Samuel Thomas (Tabitha), Paige Thomas, Joseph Lind, Annie Lind, Harrison VanderMey, Blaire VanderMey, Carlie Hall (Heber Alcaron), Cassandra Hall (Mickey Ahmed), Christina Hall (Louie Tinoco), Christopher Hall (Eli Clements) and Gracia Tanis; and his great grandchildren, Gavin Ramsberg, Ryan Thomas, Luke Thomas, Adah Thomas and Sefarino Tinoco.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM at the Carlson-Lillemoen Funeral Home (311 Ashland St S, Cambridge, MN 55008).
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to The Kidney Foundation or Triniti Hospice.
