He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Carl Wallert and Olga Ida Wallert (Wentzlaff); and his siblings, Lowell Wallert, Karen Anderson and Florene Ningen.

He is survived by: his wife Charleen of Clarkfield, MN; his daughter Angie Templin (Mark) of Pipestone, MN; his grandchildren, Daniel Templin (Hailey) of Apple Valley, MN and Katelyn Uthe (James) of Harrisburg, SD; his great grandchildren, Elias, Simon, Gideon, Malachi Templin, Mackenzie, Lydia and Selah Uthe; and his sister-in-law Beverly Kindt.
