She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Riekens and Minnie Riekens (Arp); her husband David Cole; her sisters, Betty Helgemo (Elmer) and Dorothy Riekens; her niece Denise Helgemo; and her son-in-law Steven Schanning.

She is survived by: her children, Susan Schanning of Gary, SD and John Cole (Connie Munk) of Canby, MN; her grandchildren, Christopher Schanning (Alisha), Greta Leitheiser (Adam), Laura Schanning, Andrew Cole (Kendall), Jack Cole and Emma Cole; and her great grandchildren, Bridgette, Allison, Emily, Connor Leitheiser, Kenzie, Adley Schanning and Elsie Cole.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, October 31st 2026 at 9:30 AM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 31st 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Our Saviour's Lutheran Church (108 Haarfager Ave N, Canby, MN 56220).
