We are sad to announce that, on March 29, 2026, at the age of 93, Jimmy D. Flakne (Cannon Falls, Minnesota) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold Flakne and Marian Flakne (Carlstrom); his wife Jean; his parents-in-law, Asa and Vonda Clare; his siblings, Donald and Marlis Erickson; his brothers-in-law, Robert Sellner, Richard and Ken Clare; and his pets, Villus, Fred and Midnight.
He is survived by: his children, Steve Flakne (Anne) of Burnsville, Wendy Sampson (Tom) of Cannon Falls and Debra Ericksen (Tim) of Apple Valley; his grandchildren, Shannon Groth (Lance), Kyle, Josie Ericksen, Jack Sampson (Madie Rapp) and Sadie Ellefson (Ethan); his great grandchildren, Abby, Brayden, Brielle, Carter, Lynora, Abel, Leo, Airabella, Brooklyn, Cooper and Amauri; his sister Kay Sellner of Lakeville; and his siblings-in-law, David Clare (Charlene), Jerry Clare (Sue), Ron Clare (Marie), Linda Rapp (Ken), Gail Kronmiller (Jim), Karen Wambach (Bill), Pam Johnson (Craig) and Cheryl Harty (Irv). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
Memorials may be given to Wangen Prairie Lutheran Church.
