He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Borchart and Achsah "Betty" Borchart (Johnson); his siblings, Charlie Borchart, John Borchart, June Rentschler and Diane Snyker; and his parents-in-law, Fred and Frances Allenburg.

He is survived by: his wife Fran; his children, James Borchart (Julie Borchart), Kevin Borchart (Margaret Borchart), Greg Borchart and Michelle Borchart (Taylor Pettis); his grandchildren, Spencer "Sierra" Borchart, Michael Borchart, William Borchart, Camden Pettis and Beckham Pettis; and his siblings-in-law, Jerry Snyker and Mary Allenburg.
