He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Balster and Margaret Balster (Kramer); his siblings, Linda Terry and Daniel Balster; his brother-in-law John Stengle; his nephew Andra Terry; and his niece Angie Quinn.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Kelley; his children, Kelly Balster (Janet) of Plymouth, Sara Linsley (Keith) of Victoria and Jessica Sadowski (Brian) of Chanhassen; his grandchildren, Max Balster, Rachel Balster, Nicholas Balster, Jack Balster, Mitchell Linsley, Matthew Linsley, MaryGrace Linsley, Meredith Linsley, Olivia Sadowski and Stella Sadowski; and his siblings, David Balster (Norma) of Wilmont, Sandra LeBrun (Larry) of Watertown, WI, Karen Stengle of Pierre, SD and Susan Lowman (Renard) of Yorktown, VA. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
