John Scott MacKinnon Obituary
We announce the death of John Scott MacKinnon of Chaska, Minnesota, who passed away on October 9, 2026, at the age of 81. John will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John MacKinnon and Evelyn MacKinnon (Terhume); and his former wife Barbara West. He is survived by: his wife Pat Denison of Chaska; his son Scott MacKinnon of Jordan; his stepchildren, Keith Pichelman of Excelsior, Heather Helmstetter (Fred) of Vienna, VA and Kevin Pichelman (Shannon) of Minnetonka; his grandchildren, Mia, Chase and Quinn; his stepgrandchildren, Emmet, Gavin and Sid; and his sister Jean Naylor of Minnetonka. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Faith Lutheran Church (800 Waconia Pkwy N, Waconia, MN 55387). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
