He was predeceased by: his parents, Eggert Thordarson and Thuridur Thordarson (Asmundson); and his brother-in-law Harlan Meling. He is survived by: his daughters, Carol Johnson (Tom) and Patti Waseen; his sister Lillian Meling; his grandchildren, Travis Peterson (Rachel), Lisa Myer (Cody), Holly Johnson and Jory Johnson; and his great grandchildren, Miles Myer and Kyla Johnson.

Memorials are preferred to the Chisholm Baptist Church.
