It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth Anita Sturgeon (Clarkfield, Minnesota), who passed away on October 27, 2025, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Theodore Friberg and Jenny Friberg (Benson); her husband Johnie; her siblings, Walter, Josie, Agnes, Herbert, Herman, Ethyl, Alice and Theodora; her sons-in-law, Bill Houston and Jake Oaks; her grandson Bill Houston, Jr.; and her granddaughter-in-law Kathy Anderson.
She is survived by: her children, Nancy Houston, John Wayne Sturgeon, Marlene Berg (Dale), Jennifer Oaks (Mike) and Donavon Sturgeon (Laurie); her grandchildren, Mark (Lori), Shelley (Gordon), Joshua (Denise), Jessica (Justin), Katy (Don), Angie (Jay), Hannah and Isaac; her great grandchildren, Krista (Al), Ricky (Jenna), Abby, Gavin, Graham, Grace, Haven, Iris, Alex (Briana), Zach, Isabella, Donnie Jr. and Carly; and her great great grandchildren, Henrik, Anders, Emmelia and Lorelei. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Augustana Lutheran Church (921 11th Ave, Clarkfield, MN 56223). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials can be made to Fridhem Cemetery.
