She was predeceased by: her son Kevin Lee Shabaiash Jr.; her grandparents, Roy Sr. and Geraldine Defoe; and her aunts and uncles, Roberta Defoe, Cherie Davis, Roy Defoe Jr., Randall Defoe and Antione Defoe.

She is survived by: her parents, Garrett "Umtiz" Defoe and Tammy Sumi; her children, Jayden and Jamie; and her siblings, Courtney Defoe, Adam Greensky, Jamie Defoe and Robert Dudley.
