He is survived by: his children, Sheila LaRue (Dane) and James Benko; his sisters, Doreen Ritt (Tamara) and Mary Benko; and his siblings-in-law, Marinelda Benko, Beverly Nelson, Sharon Farrow, Barbara Motschenbacher, Lisa Neufeld, Jodi Larson (Kelly), Steve Tobolaski (Patti), Chester Tobolaski, Blaine Tobolaski (Sue) and David Tobolaski (Chandra). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
