He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Nelson and Mavis Nelson (Burkett); his daughter Cheryl Marie; his brother John William; his siblings-in-law, Carol Briner and Todd Lodico; and his nephew Chris Janeczek.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Tuomi; his children, Renee Syring (Andy) of Baldwin, WI and Ryan Nelson of Portland, ME; his grandsons, Drew and Ethan Syring; and his siblings, Judy Frankki (Paul), Jan Lodico, Charlene Tapscott (Paul) and Bob Nelson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 29th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Zion Lutheran Church (1000 Washington Ave, Cloquet, MN 55720). A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 29th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
